Manchester United have finally managed to land a proper signing in this January transfer window, after signing Juan Mata on a club record fee. The Spaniard penned down a four-and-a-half-year deal.
Manchester United manager David Moyers secured his second signing at the club since taking over after Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement. The first signing didn't really do much except spending time on the medical table, Marouane Fellaini joined United in the summer transfer window but didn't live up to his manager's hype. Now the big question is whether Mata will fit in perfectly to this distorted United side that has suffered numerous back to back defeats this season. Manchester United fans will be hoping that the Spaniard fits in perfectly in the squad just as Ozil did at Arsenal. This is possible though Manchester United doesn't have the same number of quality players like Arsenal, if you take away Rooney and Van Persie United is just a normal side like Aston Villa. Manchester United is reportedly in talks with Wayne Rooney over a new contract which will see the English front man leading the team as Captain, hopefully that will benefit United. The best option would be to send Rooney back to his original position now that Mata has arrived, but then again Moyers preferred using Wayne Rooney in the middle of the park with Kagawa watching from the bench, yes Rooney did the job very well because he is a hard worker.
This season is about to be really interesting, we just have to wait and see when all David Moyers' front men are back. Manchester United fans will have to wait till Tuesday night to see if Mata is their Ozil.
